5 Things This Is Not. Apparel, Not a Treatment.

If a brand tells you a sock heals a skin condition, close the tab. Here is exactly what this is not, and the one thing it is.

Here is what this is not. If a brand tells you a sock heals a skin condition, close the tab.

Read the whole boundary

If it does not suit you, reply inside fourteen nights and we refund you without asking for it back.

1. It does not treat anything

The Day Sock alone on plain white card, centred, generous empty space around it

A sock that claims to treat a skin condition is making a medical claim it cannot support. Whatever helps the skin is the emollient, the plan and the people managing it. The sock keeps the emollient where it was put.

2. It does not cure anything

An open plain white tub of emollient on a pale grey surface, in sharp focus, alone

Long term skin conditions are managed, not cured by clothing. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something they cannot deliver.

3. It is not antibacterial or antifungal

Nothing is infused into it. Hygiene comes from washing after every wear, at 40, in the mesh bag.

Antibacterial socks usually rely on a treatment in the fibre. That is one more thing against the skin, and one more thing that washes out over time.

4. It contains no actives

An extreme close up of the bonded silicone inner face of the Solen Base Day Sock, clean, smooth and matte

No urea, no acids, no botanicals, no percentages. There is nothing on the label to calculate or compare, because there is nothing to deliver.

5. Nothing has been infused into the fabric

A row of small unlabelled objects on a pale grey surface: a bottle of oil, a jar of shea butter, a cut aloe leaf, a vitamin E capsule, each apart from the next

No shea, no aloe, no vitamin E, no fragrance. Infusions wash out within weeks and add an unknown second product to the skin while they last.

What it is

Two socks turned inside out on white card: an ordinary cotton sock with a pale patch of emollient soaked through the sole, and a Solen Base Day Sock with…

A garment with a continuous bonded inner face that keeps the emollient you already use against the skin, instead of letting it wick into cotton.

The guarantee is bounded on purpose

A plain brown postal box on a hallway table, open, with tissue paper inside and no returns label

A satisfaction promise, fourteen nights, no return needed. An unbounded promise to someone managing a diagnosed condition would be a lie.

Before you buy

  • Not over a prescription steroid unless your doctor has said so. Occlusion increases how much is absorbed.
  • Not on broken, weeping or infected skin.
  • Not between the toes. Those spaces stay dry.
